Join us for a fireside chat with Marla Blow, Founder and CEO, FS Card Inc., and Jillian Williams, Investment Associate, Anthemis Group, to discuss the challenges of fundraising. Among other things, we will discuss what particular challenges female founders face when raising capital; how to manage the extraordinary time commitment required, while still running a business; and the importance of finding the right investors who are aligned with your philosophy and mission.

Marla is Chief Executive Officer of FS Card and a member of the company’s board of directors. Prior to FS Card Marla served as Assistant Director of Card and Payment Markets at the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Marla previously spent seven years in a variety of functions at Capital One. Marla graduated from Stanford University Graduate School of Business with an MBA, and also earned a BS degree in Economics from University of Pennsylvania, Wharton.

Jillian is an Investment Associate at Anthemis, where she helps discover, evaluate and execute investments. Prior to joining Anthemis, Jillian worked at Barclays in the Investment Banking division. She specialized in equity capital markets for financial institutions, helping a range of companies go public and raise capital in the public market.
Born and raised in New York City, Jillian graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in Economics. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling and participating in sports. Jillian is a talented athlete and ran competitively for several years. She studied Mandarin and has spent a significant time working and studying the language in China.

Jisoo leads DWT’s New York food and beverage practice, representing branded packaged food companies and tech-enabled businesses operating in the food and hospitality industries. Jisoo works with early stage and mid-growth companies and their investors with respect to entity formation, corporate governance, venture financing and exit event transactions across industries. She also represents numerous buyers and sellers in private M&A transactions with a particular focus on media, food and advertising companies. Jisoo is passionate about supporting women- and minority-invested businesses, and is active in mentoring entrepreneurs and collaborating with thought leaders who promote these initiatives. Jisoo received her A.B. from Harvard University and her J.D. from Columbia Law School.
